Discussion from 9:30-12pm

At the Homeless Advisory
Committee on Friday January 16, petitions that call on the Mayor to open
a 200 bed shelter will be gathered and delivered. Mayor Lastman will be
asked to contribute a positive legacy before he begins preparation to
leave City Hall by opening a desperately needed emergency shelter.
The recent reliance on Cold Weather alerts to add beds and mats
to an already crowded shelter system still does not provide an adequate
addition of emergency shelter beds. Below are only some of the
organizations supporting the call for the immediate opening of a 200 bed
shelter.
